High Court (PHC) has summoned the current and former station house officers (SHOs) of Badhabaer Police Station along with relevant records in a petition seeking the recovery of Umer Khan, who allegedly went missing.
Chief Justice Peshawar High Court S.M. Attiq Shah heard the case. Additional Advocate General Nauman Kakakhel and the missing man’s mother appeared before the court.
Umer Khan’s mother told the court that police personnel allegedly took her son away from their home by force, insisting that he had committed no crime. She stated that her family was poor and had been forced to approach courts repeatedly to seek his recovery.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Attiq Shah questioned why the police had allegedly picked up only her son from the entire area. The mother reiterated that her son was innocent.
The PHC directed the current and former SHOs of Badhabaer Police Station to appear at the next hearing with the relevant record and adjourned the case until next Monday.
