PHMA Urges Govt To Extend Deadline For Filing Income Tax Returns

PHMA (Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers & Exporters Association) has called upon the government and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend the deadline for filing income tax returns for the tax year 2026 by at least one month.

In a joint statement issued on Wednesday, Central Chairman Syed Zia Alamdar Hussain and Zonal Chairman Mian Farrukh Iqbal highlighted the difficulties faced by the business community and taxpayers in meeting the existing deadline. They noted that the large volume of returns and related documentation required to be completed within a limited period placed significant pressure on taxpayers, tax consultants, and business organizations.

Extending the deadline, according to the statement, would allow taxpayers sufficient time to accurately complete their returns, preventing unnecessary complications, penalties, and inconvenience.
