PICS Organises PHEC Quiz Competition to Mark 75 Years of Pakistan-China Diplomatic Relations
The Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS), University of Sargodha, successfully organised the PHEC Quiz Competition as part of the celebrations marking the 75th Anniversary of Pakistan-China Diplomatic Relations.
Competition Structure
The competition was conducted in two major stages:
- Internal Level: Exclusive to students of the University of Sargodha, comprising two rounds of assessment, leading to the formation of top-performing teams to represent the university at the Divisional Level.
- Divisional Level: Held at the Malik Firoz Khan Noon Business School (MFKNBS), University of Sargodha, bringing together teams from five universities: A.G. Niazi University, University of Lahore – Sargodha Campus, University of Mianwali, University of Sargodha, and Namal University.
Participation and Content
A total of nine teams, each comprising three students, participated. The quiz covered diverse aspects of Pakistan-China relations, history, culture, diplomacy, and contemporary developments.
Keynote Speeches
Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director, Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS) and Focal Person, PHEC, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the significance of engaging young minds in activities promoting Pakistan-China relations.
Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Vice Chancellor, University of Sargodha, praised PICS for its efforts in organising the competition and its commitment to promoting awareness of Pakistan-China relations.
Results
After a keen contest, the following teams emerged as winners:
- 1st Position: University of Sargodha Team A
- 2nd Position: University of Sargodha Team B
- 3rd Position: A.G. Niazi University Team A
Abbas Haider, Chairman of the board, served as the Guest of Honour, along with Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, Pro Vice Chancellor, who presented certificates to the organising committee members and shields to the winning teams.
