PM Shehbaz Felicitates Newly Elected AJK PM Syed Iftikhar Ali Gilani
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday congratulated Syed Iftikhar Ali Gilani on assuming office as the newly elected Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), extending his best wishes for Gilani’s tenure.
During a meeting with the AJK prime minister, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the government of Pakistan would continue extending full cooperation to the AJK government for the welfare and well-being of the people of the territory, as per a Prime Minister’s Office news release.
The prime minister reaffirmed that the federal government would continue taking all possible measures for the development and prosperity of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The two leaders held detailed discussions on peace, development, and ongoing welfare projects in AJK.
Syed Iftikhar Ali Gilani thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his support and expressed his resolve to utilize all his capabilities for the development of the region and the welfare of its people.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah also attended the meeting.
