Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of power load shedding in various areas of the country. A meeting chaired by the prime minister reviewed the country’s power load management situation.

The prime minister expressed concern over increasing load shedding in various cities. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, he directed that no area should face more than two hours of power load shedding.

Briefing:

The meeting was briefed on the supply of RLNG in light of the recent regional situation. The briefing stated that tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and transmission difficulties had affected RLNG supplies. The disruption in RLNG supplies led to a decline in power generation, making load management necessary to maintain a balance between supply and demand.

The prime minister directed that immediate steps be taken to address interruptions in RLNG transmission and that all available resources be used effectively. He reiterated that no area should face more than two hours of power load shedding.

According to the statement, the prime minister ordered the establishment of consumer grievance redressal committees at the DISCO level to resolve public complaints. He directed that the committees should also include public representation and become operational within one week.
