PM To Attend UNGA Opening Session, Hold Bilateral Meetings Today
UrduPoint (22nd Sep, 2026) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to attend the opening session of the 81st United Nations General Assembly being held in New York. The opening session will feature addresses by UN Secretary-General António Guterres and US President Donald Trump.
The High-Level UNGA Week brings together world leaders under the theme, “Restoring trust, managing transformation: a United Nations that delivers for all.” The prime minister, who has a busy day ahead, will also hold bilateral meetings with various world leaders in attendance.
Prime Minister Sharif arrived in New York on Monday, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, to participate in the session.
