PM&DC Orders Foolproof MDCAT Arrangements
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) President Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj on Thursday directed all concerned authorities to ensure transparent, fair and secure conduct of the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026, scheduled for September 20.
Chairing a high-level meeting to review preparations for the examination, he stressed strict adherence to PM&DC policies and guidelines and said the integrity of the test must be ensured at all levels.
The meeting was attended by vice chancellors of universities conducting the MDCAT, relevant provincial secretaries and health authorities, and senior PM&DC officials. The participants reviewed arrangements for conducting the examination across the country.
A total of 138,158 candidates have registered for MDCAT 2026, which will be held in 35 cities and towns across Pakistan, as well as at an international centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was informed that the Prime Minister had desired the MDCAT to be conducted in a highly transparent, fair and orderly manner, with zero tolerance for any compromise on its integrity.
The participants also reviewed arrangements for medical support, emergency response and facilitation services at examination centres to provide a safe and conducive environment for candidates, including those appearing from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The participating universities and provincial authorities were directed to ensure that examination centres were adequately prepared, with proper seating, essential facilities, security arrangements and necessary facilities for candidates and their accompanying parents or guardians.
PM&DC clarified that it had provided unified regulatory standards for MDCAT papers, while the responsibility for on-ground conduct and administrative arrangements, including maintaining transparency and secrecy of examination papers at respective centres, rested with the provincial authorities and universities.
The vice chancellors and representatives of provincial authorities assured the PM&DC president that all prescribed requirements would be fulfilled and arrangements completed well before the examination.
Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj directed all stakeholders to maintain close coordination and ensure the highest standards of professionalism, efficiency and examination security throughout the process.
