PML-N to Issue Policy Statement on Provincial Debate: Rana Sanaullah
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will consider the views of its district and union council workers while Parliament decides on creating new provinces, according to the party’s adviser, Rana Sanaullah. He made these remarks in Lahore.
Sanaullah stated that the PML-N will release its policy statement once the debate on provinces reaches Parliament. He added that the federal minister had not yet made any official statements regarding this matter.
The discussion, according to Sanaullah, should take place in Parliament, and a seminar or economic forum would not provide a conclusive outcome. He revealed that consultations are ongoing within the PML-N regarding their stance on new provinces.
Furthermore, he emphasized that Parliament will determine whether the people want new provinces, and tensions between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and PML-N have subsided. Sanaullah also mentioned requesting Jamaat-e-Islami to postpone their "long march" for a short period.
