PMYP, SDPI Vow To Devise Broader Framework For Youths Empowerment, Climate Resilience & Green Economy
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) and the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) have agreed to collaborate on advancing youth empowerment, climate resilience, and green economy initiatives across Pakistan.
In a significant step forward, both organizations signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) on Thursday. Dr Abid Qaiyum Suleri, SDPI’s Executive Director, and Dr Muhammad Ali Malik, Joint Secretary of PMYP, signed the document representing their respective entities. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of PMYP, was also present at the ceremony.
Key Commitments:

PMYP’s Role: PMYP will provide institutional support through its four main programmes (education, employment, engagement, and environment) and utilize its Digital Youth Hub (DYH) and network of Youth Development Centres (YDCs) to facilitate youth participation in various initiatives.

SDPI’s Contribution: SDPI will lead research, policy analysis, and evidence generation related to youth development, sharing findings with PMYP for informed planning.

Partnership Goals: The partnership aims to build youth capacity in climate adaptation, promote circular economy practices, and support green jobs. It also involves engaging private sector partners for internships, volunteering, and employment opportunities.

Training and Skill Development: PMYP participants will gain hands-on experience through the SDPI’s Centre for Learning and Development (CLD), aligning with future workforce needs.
Future Prospects:
The LoI, while non-binding, paves the way for future agreements and joint initiatives, including potential grant-writing collaborations. Both organizations expressed optimism that this partnership will empower Pakistan’s youth with knowledge and skills to contribute to a sustainable future.
