Police Foil Inter-provincial Gutka Smuggling Bid, Arrest Two
Hyderabad, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Sep, 2026) Shaheed Benazirabad Police claimed another major success in their ongoing crackdown against narcotics and hazardous substances, foiling an inter-provincial smuggling attempt and recovering a large quantity of gutka.
According to a police press release, acting under the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shaheed Benazirabad, Sumair Noor Channa, the Qazi Ahmed police intercepted a suspicious Toyota Corolla near Lakhat Mori during routine patrolling.
Upon search, the police recovered eight sacks of “Indian Taj/Safina gutka” from the vehicle. The seized consignment comprised a total of 400 packets containing 44,000 pouches of gutka. The vehicle, reported to be in an accidental condition, was also taken into custody. During the operation, two alleged inter-provincial drug traffickers, identified as Waseem Bugti, son of Ustad Muhammad, and Elahi Bakhsh Brohi, a resident of Jaffarabad, Baluchistan, were arrested on the spot.
A case has been registered against the accused at Qazi Ahmed Police Station and further investigation is underway.
