Punjab: Anti-Polio Programme Head Reviews Vaccination Efforts
(Multan, 22 September 2026) Punjab's Anti-Polio Programme head, Khalid Pervez, today reviewed polio vaccination arrangements in mobile and migrant settlements, as well as at key transit points across the city. He emphasized the importance of not missing any traveling or mobile child during the ongoing campaign.
During his visit, Pervez inspected vaccination activities at various locations, verifying the vaccination status of children, all of whom were found to be vaccinated. He also reviewed the performance of field teams, micro-plans, and vaccination arrangements, interacting with representatives from mobile and migrant communities.
He stressed the need for effective community participation to ensure complete coverage of children.
Pervez directed polio teams to:
- Check the Vaccine Vial Monitor (VVM) and expiry date before administering vaccine doses.
- Maintain adequate stocks of essential supplies in the field.
Later, he visited a transit vaccination point at the bus stand, checking children traveling on buses and administering polio drops to them. He instructed teams to ensure vaccination of every eligible child passing through the city.
Highlighting Multan's significance as a major transit hub with high passenger traffic, Pervez directed officials to pay special attention to shrines and other frequented locations by travelers and mobile populations to minimize the risk of poliovirus transmission.
