President Stresses Responsible Tech Integration in Tourism on World Tourism Day
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Sep, 2026) President Asif Ali Zardari has called for ensuring that technological advancements and artificial intelligence in the tourism sector remain responsible, inclusive, and beneficial to local communities.
Extending his greetings to the people of Pakistan, the global tourism community, and travelers on the occasion of World Tourism Day 2026, being observed on September 27, the president highlighted how digital transformation is reshaping the industry. He stated this year’s theme, “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism,” emphasizing the impact of technology and AI on travel planning, destination discovery, and cultural experiences.
Pakistan boasts remarkable diversity, from the northern mountains and Indus Valley civilizations to its Islamic and Gandhara heritage, cities, deserts, and coastal areas. However, the president noted that our greatest strength lies in the warmth and hospitality of our people.
Tourism offers opportunities for creating livelihoods, supporting local businesses, empowering young people, and women, while also bringing economic activity to communities nationwide. He stressed the need to protect natural environments, cultural heritage, and traditions for future generations.
On this World Tourism Day, the president invited travelers from around the globe to explore Pakistan, experience its hospitality, and witness the country’s beauty and diversity. He concluded by calling for a tourism sector embracing innovation while remaining rooted in values of hospitality, respect, and responsibility, adding that “Pakistan welcomes the world with open arms.”
