President Zardari Reaffirms Pakistan’s Commitment To Upholding Fundamental Rights, Human Dignity
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Aug, 2026) President Asif Ali Zardari reaffirmed commitment to protecting the fundamental rights and dignity of every individual, as guaranteed under the Constitution of Pakistan, 1973 and the human rights treaties ratified by Pakistan.
In a message on the Occasion of World Humanitarian Day being observed on August 19, the president said:
On World Humanitarian Day 2026, I extend my appreciation to all social workers, counsellors, healthcare providers, child protection workers and humanitarian personnel serving across Pakistan. Their dedication reminds us of the responsibility we share to assist those in need and to ensure that no one is left without support in times of crisis.
We are grateful to humanitarian workers who, alongside civil society, security forces and ordinary citizens, remain prepared to respond when communities face emergencies.
Their swift response, contribution to relief and rehabilitation, and commitment to helping people in distress, often in difficult and dangerous conditions, deserved deepest appreciation, he added.
The president noted that:
Their timely assistance and compassion provided essential support to people who were most vulnerable during such times.
Humanitarian workers played an important role in helping communities withstand crises and recover from them, he said, adding their work reflects the values of compassion and respect for human dignity.
He further observed:
Through organised and professional assistance, they helped strengthened the support systems available to people affected by violence, displacement, hunger, poverty, disability and marginalisation.
