Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Departs for Three-day Visit to Kyrgyzstan
LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 31, 2026) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif departed for Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on Monday for a three-day visit.
During his visit, the prime minister will:
- Address the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and present Pakistan’s perspective on various regional and global issues.
- Attend the SCO Plus Summit.
- Participate as the chief guest in the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games.
- Hold bilateral meetings with leaders of various countries participating in the SCO Summit, focusing on bilateral relations, trade and investment, regional cooperation, and other matters of mutual interest.
The prime minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov to review all aspects of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. The two sides will discuss promoting trade and investment, energy cooperation, regional connectivity, education, tourism, and people-to-people contacts.
Federal Ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Aleem Khan, and Attaullah Tarar are accompanying the prime minister.
