Proposal To Build A Road Connecting Multan Road With Bund Road And Babu Sabu

LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 10, 2026) The increasing traffic pressure in Lahore has heightened the need for an alternative to the existing entry and exit routes of the city. In response, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is planning a new route.

According to the LDA’s plan, a proposal has been drafted to construct a new road linking Multan Road with Bund Road and Babu Sabu. The authority has initiated the process of developing a detailed and comprehensive plan for this new entry and exit route.

Initial Planning:

  • A two-lane road is proposed along the new route.
  • A key objective is to provide a direct alternative route for traffic from Multan Road exiting Lahore, facilitating access to Babu Sabu and the motorway.

Background:
The current major routes into and out of Lahore, including Thokar Niaz Baig, Ferozepur Road, Kahna, and Ravi Pul, are experiencing mounting traffic congestion. Consequently, a new route is proposed as an alternative for Multan Road traffic.
