Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique on Thursday conducted a detailed visit to the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) in Rawalpindi, on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
During his visit, the minister inspected various departments of the hospital and spoke directly with patients receiving treatment. A high-level meeting was also held, where PKLI’s management briefed him on institutional performance, healthcare services, and administrative affairs.
Announcing a significant healthcare initiative, Rafique stated that a free kidney and liver transplant program will be launched soon under the auspices of the Punjab Chief Minister. He congratulated the medical staff for successfully performing two liver transplants at PKLI Rawalpindi, describing it as a major achievement.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to delivering world-class, standardized medical services, Rafique noted that advanced healthcare facilities are being extended to patients suffering from kidney and liver ailments at PKLI Rawalpindi.
