According to Sher Afzal Marwat, a PTI lawmaker, talks are ongoing that Bushra Bibi could receive relief if the protest is called off.

ISLAMABAD, ( UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News12th Sep, 2026) Marwat stated that PTI‘s long march does not seem probable and that the party is seeking face-saving. While appearing on Sama news‘ program, he claimed that PTI‘s long march does not appear to be happening and that party leaders are asking for some face-saving.

He further added that:

  • He had never acted at anyone’s behest.
  • He had valid constitutional and legal grounds to remove Sohail Afridi from the post of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa‘s chief minister.
  • He had filed the petition six months after Sohail Afridi became chief minister.

Marwat questioned why the province wasn’t shut down when Imran Khan directed it and asked who gave the order to end the sit-in in Attock overnight.

"Let them hold this long march and show that they can bring 2 million people; then I will say that this person is a true soldier of Imran Khan," he stated.

On the other hand, Ikhtiar Wali, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, claimed on Sama News‘ program "Mere Sawal Absar Alam Ke Sath" that PTI has not yet established itself as a political party.

He accused PTI of seeking bodies and blood and stated that Maulana Fazlur Rehman would never join hands with PTI. He further claimed that nothing would happen on September 27 and that PTI was not receiving any deal, leniency, or NRO. Wali added that PTI had closed all doors for itself. He also mentioned that Barrister Gohar and others were in contact but not for the release of Imran Khan. He further suggested that Shafi Jan should be asked to resign over his remarks.

Meanwhile, Marwat, while speaking about the September 27 long march, said he would participate if Imran Khan asked him to. He reiterated that PTI‘s long march would not take place and that its leaders were not ready to hold it. He restated that PTI leaders were seeking face-saving and that talks were underway to provide relief to Bushra Bibi if the march was cancelled.
