No court will allow armed groups to march on Islamabad; protests may be permitted if three basic conditions are met, the prime minister’s adviser on political affairs says.
###ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026):
Prime Minister’s Adviser Senator Rana Sanaullah has stated that intelligence agencies have reported PTI planning to repeat a mistake bigger than May 9 on Sept 27. He added that no court will allow an armed group to attack its government or the capital.
Speaking on GTV news, he said the government would comply with a court order allowing PTI to hold a protest and provide security but expressed certainty that no such order would be issued.
He explained that:
- No court could allow an armed group to attack its capital.
- If Islamabad were attacked, it would become globally ridiculed and everyone’s lives and property, including foreign diplomats, would be at risk.
- Neither the Constitution nor the law permits such an action, and no court would permit it; such activities should be prevented.
He outlined three conditions for granting protest permission:
- No person would be armed.
- An assurance of peaceful conduct.
- Terms of the protest long march to be settled with Islamabad administration.
**Questioning PTI’s intentions, he asked: "Who would trust a party with May 9 to its credit?" He suggested that PTI review its conduct and avoid repeating past mistakes.
