PTI Worker Burned In Oil Pan During Alleged Police Crackdown on 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal Dies

Ishtiaq Khan, a PTI activist, suffered severe burns after falling into a pan of boiling oil during Eid Milad-un-Nabi on 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal, allegedly while a police raid was underway at the residence of PTI leader Zubair Niazi.
According to a statement by Zubair Niazi shared on social media, Ishtiaq Khan was critically injured and rushed to Mayo Hospital for treatment. Despite the best efforts of doctors, he succumbed to his injuries after a 18-day battle.
His funeral prayer was held today at a cemetery near GT Road, opposite the University of Engineering and Technology (UET). A large number of party workers, relatives, and family members attended.
Recall that police allegedly raided Zubair Niazi's home in Rajgarh, Lahore, during a Milad gathering, detaining several PTI leaders and workers, including Ishtiaq Khan.
Zubair Niazi claimed that during the raid, Ishtiaq Khan and another individual fell into a pan of hot oil in a stampede caused by the police. Despite his injuries, Ishtiaq was arrested and taken away by police. His mother was released shortly after, while all other leaders, lawyers, and workers were detained.
