Punjab Police Abducted And Dumped On Road, Sohail Afridi Alleges
Sohail Afridi, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has alleged that Punjab Police abducted him and dumped him on the road. Speaking to PTI workers at Lahore’s Lakshmi Chowk, he stated:
"They kidnapped me and then dumped me here on the road. The fake Punjab government and Punjab Police did this."
Afridi urged his supporters to remain peaceful, saying:
"They will try to provoke you, but you must not create unrest."
Earlier, Afridi had climbed onto a police van at Lahore’s Mall Road, Regal Chowk, claiming he was not causing any trouble and was being harassed. He demanded the release of his workers before taking further action.
Counterclaims and Reactions
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan accused Punjab Police of putting Afridi in a vehicle and abandoning him in an isolated area. He declared that the humiliation of the elected chief minister would not be tolerated.
Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari shared a video of Afridi near the van, claiming:
"Watch another drama: Sohail Afridi himself went and sat in the police van. The police officers kept asking him to get out, while Sohail Afridi even scolded his guard and moved him aside for blocking the view of his drama."
