Punjab Police Cricket Team Wins Ghani Royal Tourney T20 Title
Punjab Police Cricket Team has won the Ghani Royal Tourney T20 Tournament title in an outstanding performance, remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament, in which they participated for the first time.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem congratulated the Punjab Police Cricket Team, officials, team management, and coaches on this achievement. The team, along with their entourage, visited the Central Police Office in Lahore and met with Director General Pakistan Police Sports Board and Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad.
Additional IG Imran Arshad congratulated the Patron Pakistan Police Cricket Sports Discipline Additional IG IAB Imran Mehmood, players of the Punjab Police Cricket Team, and the management on their victory. He presented cash prizes and certificates of appreciation to the players, officials, and coaches in recognition of their performance.
He stated that Punjab Police players are demonstrating exceptional performance in cricket and other sports. Comprehensive measures are being taken to encourage and support police players, providing them with better opportunities.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, Team Captain Shoaib and Manager Sub-Inspector Amjad were awarded cash prizes and certificates of appreciation. Mentor Senior Traffic Warden Saleem Jutt and Coach Head Constable Nadeem also received cash prizes and certificates.
The spokesperson noted that eight teams from across the country participated in the Ghani Royal Tourney T20 Tournament, with international players representing some of the participating teams. In the final, Punjab Police defeated Vital-T Cricket Team after a thrilling contest to lift the trophy. International cricketer Asif Ali, who represented Punjab Police, played a key role in their victory by scoring an impressive 99 runs off 36 balls.
The spokesperson added that this was Punjab Police’s first participation in the tournament and they emerged victorious while remaining unbeaten throughout the competition.
