Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh Calls Free Medical Camps a Noble Service to Humanity
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Federal Minister for Board of Investment, visited a free medical camp organized by Anjuman Islamia and Islamia Hospital Chiniot at Mouza Asian on the outskirts of Chiniot. During his visit, he inspected various departments, observed medical facilities, and commended the efforts of doctors, paramedical staff, and volunteers.
During his interaction with patients, Sheikh emphasized that providing free healthcare to the needy is a highly admirable service in Pakistan, where around 100 million people live near or below the poverty line. He attributed his ability to serve humanity to the blessings of Allah Almighty and stressed the importance of national development beyond infrastructure, encompassing education, healthcare, and human resources.
The federal minister also highlighted the need for investing in education, especially focusing on modern technology and skills to help young people overcome poverty and strengthen the economy. Referring to his political career and business background, he noted Pakistan‘s significant economic growth potential but emphasized the necessity of efficient resource utilization, clear priorities, and control over unnecessary expenditures.
Welcoming the establishment of higher educational institutions in Chiniot, Sheikh stated that investing in modern education and skills is an investment in the country’s future. Addressing the political and economic situation, he called for national consensus among all political parties on crucial issues like education, health, and the economy. He drew inspiration from countries like China, which, through education, planning, and economic reforms, successfully reduced poverty.
Sheikh expressed hope that Pakistan could also overcome poverty through unity and collective efforts. He identified agriculture, minerals, industry, and value-added products as sectors with significant investment opportunities but highlighted challenges such as high electricity prices, production costs, and administrative hurdles that need to be addressed.
Appreciating Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the economic team, Sheikh commended their efforts to achieve economic stability. He also praised Anjuman Islamia, Islamia Hospital Chiniot, doctors, medical staff, and volunteers for their philanthropy.
