Quaid Devoted His Life to Human Rights of Subcontinent’s Muslims, Says President Zardari
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) President Asif Ali Zardari has paid rich tribute to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his 78th death anniversary, stating that the great leader dedicated his life to the constitutional, legal, religious, cultural, and, above all, human rights of the Muslims of the subcontinent, ultimately leading them towards the creation of Pakistan.
In his message on the occasion, the president emphasized that:
Pakistan was envisioned as a nation where Muslims in Muslim-majority areas could live their lives free from the shadow of a Hindu majoritarian state, in harmony and peace with non-Muslim minorities, allowing people of all faiths to live according to their beliefs.
He highlighted how this vision was vividly reflected in Quaid’s words and actions, notably expressed in his speech of August 11, just three days before Pakistan’s creation.
President Zardari noted that Quaid’s life serves as an enduring lesson in perseverance, discipline, and confidence in one’s purpose, offering a guiding vision to navigate challenges, crises, and opportunities. He described Quaid’s life as a "radiant lighthouse and compass" to face all difficulties.
The president reminded that Quaid taught the nation:
- The importance of institutions enjoying public confidence, constitutional continuity, and equality before the law.
- That differences and polarization should be resolved through constitutional institutions, democratic processes, dialogue, and the rule of law.
He called upon the nation to face the present challenges with seriousness, hard work, and responsible governance. By leveraging new technologies, especially artificial intelligence, Pakistan should:
- Reform, restructure, and strengthen its economy.
- Create greater opportunities for young people.
- Improve public services.
- Ensure development benefits reach all citizens.
Simultaneously, the country must protect itself from external aggression, terrorism, militant ideologies, and violent extremism.
President Zardari affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region and its role in promoting dialogue for peaceful dispute resolution. He urged the people of Pakistan, especially the youth, to draw strength from Quaid’s example and face difficulties with courage and confidence. He emphasized the importance of remaining dedicated to building a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan, no matter the size of the challenges.
