Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan's Statement
Shafi Jan accused Rana Sanaullah of viewing May 9 as a significant political event and suggested that people's perspectives are shaped by their individual mindsets. He claimed that another May 9 is being orchestrated, referring to Rana Sanaullah's association with Model Town and Muridke. Jan urged him to reflect on his past before criticizing others.
Speaking in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, he stated:
"If anyone wants to fire a bullet on September 27, let them; if anyone wants to disqualify us, let them. We will compete under all circumstances."
Jan affirmed their continued struggle for Imran Khan's unjust imprisonment and democratic rights, highlighting the upcoming September 27 Islamabad march. He criticized the hypocrisy of accusing others of links with banned organizations while seeking similar protection for such groups in Punjab.
Referring to Pakistan's response to India's May attack, Jan expressed disappointment in Maryam Bibi and Nawaz Sharif's silence against Modi during this "Battle of Truth." He also brought up an incident where Shehbaz Sharif ordered Pakhtun citizens to be stopped from entering Punjab at the border during an anti-terrorism operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
"We do not engage in debates about dividing Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan in the name of terrorism; everyone is Pakistani," Jan emphasized. He urged a review of history, emphasizing the need to acknowledge political prisoners still held in Punjab's jails, including Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.
Jan criticized Maryam Nawaz for absolving Modi of responsibility and hurting national sentiments. He argued that suggesting Punjab faces a threat from neighboring provinces rather than India is equivalent to giving the enemy a clean chit and contradicting Pakistan's national narrative against Indian aggression.
