A PML-N leader has questioned when party workers and leaders will be allowed to speak openly. He noted that they are repeatedly told to remain silent, regardless of whether the party is facing difficulties or in power, as “they will become angry.”

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Mian Javed Latif has strongly criticized the debate over creating new provinces in the country and his party’s internal structure, raising several questions.
According to reports, speaking at a PML-N consultative meeting about new provinces, Latif emphasized that such sensitive administrative matters should not be discussed casually. He argued that it is not feasible to dream of establishing new provinces overnight. Latif stated that individuals with no connection to ground realities were being involved in these debates.
Addressing Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s Adviser, Latif demanded that Sanaullah openly reveal the extent of authority held by the government or the Prime Minister himself, as he was aware of this reality and everyone else was too. He accused party workers and leaders of being kept hostage to expediency: silenced when the party faced difficulties and told to remain quiet when in power, lest they “become angry.” Latif then asked when party members would actually have a chance to speak freely and how that freedom should be utilized.
