Her husband allegedly seized her mobile phone and locked her in a room, threatened to kill her and prevented her from contacting family, meeting her children or seeking police help, according to the FIR.
Rawalpindi-based Additional Deputy Commissioner (DC) Headquarters Maliha Sehar has registered a case at the Women Police Station against her husband, alleging domestic violence, harassment and serious death threats.
According to the FIR filed on Maliha Sehar’s complaint, the mother of two and senior officer at the Commissioner’s Office stated that she had been facing continuous physical and psychological abuse by her husband for several months.
She said that on the evening of 2 October, her husband severely assaulted her, took away her mobile phone and locked her in a room.
The case further states that the accused strictly prevented her from contacting her family, meeting her children and even seeking police assistance in an emergency. During this period, she was also allegedly threatened with death and told that her children would be seriously harmed.
Additional DC Maliha Sehar told police that she faced serious threats to her life and physical safety. She therefore formally requested legal action, a medical examination and the preservation of evidence of injuries on her body.
It has been reported that Rawalpindi’s Women Police Station registered the case immediately on the officer’s complaint and began a legal investigation. Police officials said all allegations were being examined thoroughly.
