"Our flights cannot be grounded and our goods blocked from air transport while you cooperate with the Americans and expect us to remain silent," said Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in an interview.

TEHRAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2026) Iran's Supreme National Security Council chief, Mohsen Rezaei, has issued a warning to regional countries considering joining US air restrictions on Iran. He stated that these countries would also face consequences and lose flights if they comply with American sanctions.

In an interview with Iranian television, Rezaei emphasized, "You cannot impose restrictions on our traders' travel." He further added, "Our flights cannot be grounded and our goods blocked from air transport..." while criticizing their collaboration with the US.

US Air Restrictions Impact Iranian Airlines:

Starting today, Iranian airlines are subject to US air restrictions, leading to flight cancellations to several countries. However, some nations are still permitting Iranian aircraft to land.

Rezaei clarified that discussions with various delegations at the United Nations were not negotiations but rather an effort to inform them about Iran's conditions. He stated that no new developments had occurred regarding the easing or tightening of these conditions and that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed until these conditions were met.

He revealed that Iran had seven, not three, conditions. Iranian officials had reached a preliminary agreement for two or three days and decided to inform mediators about their demands.

The security council chief explained that President [Name] convened a meeting before Abbas Araghchi and Masoud Pezeshkian's visit to the United States to decide which issues to address in New York, with the decision being to convey the same conditions.
