Renowned Journalist Arif Mahmood Chauhan Passes Away; Funeral Prayers Offered
UrduPoint (4 October, 2026) - Renowned journalist Haji Arif Mahmood Chauhan, who served as Information Secretary for the District Social Media Team of the District Press Club (Registered), Chiniot, has passed away.
The deceased was the son of the late Haji Muhammad Bashir Chauhan, nephew of the late Master Dost Muhammad Chauhan and Dr. Ghulam Yaseen Chauhan, and brother-in-law of Younis Burhani, Qari Muhammad Afzal Burhani, and Qari Naseer Ahmed Burhani.
His funeral prayers were offered at 5:00 PM (following Asr prayers) in the Shahi Masjid garden, attended by members of the journalistic community, relatives, and local residents. The community expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for Allah's forgiveness, a high place in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and strength to bear the loss with patience.
