RPO Dera Ismail Khan holds telephone open court, orders prompt action on complaints
Dera Ismail Khan, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 10, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghulam Mubashir Maken initiated a unique initiative by conducting a telephone open court at the Range Police Office. This platform aimed to address the concerns and complaints of citizens from various districts within the Dera Range, encompassing Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Upper South Waziristan, and Lower South Waziristan.
During this interactive session, individuals had the opportunity to directly connect with the RPO via telephone and share their issues and grievances. Maken attentively listened to each concern and promptly took action in several instances, referring matters to the appropriate Station House Officers, Sub-Divisional Police Officers, and Superintendents of Police. He instructed them to address these complaints within three days, emphasizing strict adherence to legal procedures.
The RPO clarified that any negligence or delay in handling public grievances would not be acceptable. This telephone open court was designed to overcome the challenges faced by remote and underdeveloped areas’ residents, providing them direct access to a senior police officer without the hassle of long-distance travel.
Maken highlighted the significance of direct communication between the police and the public, stating that it forms the core of effective policing and fosters public trust. He further emphasized the accessibility of this initiative, scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, catering to the needs of all citizens across the Dera Range.
