RPO Stresses Police-Business Coordination for Peaceful Multan

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Usman Akram Gondal on Wednesday stated that the police are dedicated to upholding law and order, safeguarding citizens’ lives and property, and fostering a secure and conducive environment for the business community.
Addressing a dinner hosted by the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), he emphasized the critical need for strong collaboration between police and the business sector to effectively prevent crime and promptly resolve public and business-related concerns.
The RPO announced the appointment of a senior officer from his office as a dedicated focal person for coordination and communication with the MCCI. He highlighted enhanced security patrols and arrangements in major commercial hubs and sensitive areas, utilizing modern technology and policing strategies to ensure safety.
Furthermore, Gondal prioritized effective traffic management for seamless urban life and business operations, promising efforts with relevant departments to improve traffic flow, alleviate congestion, and remove unnecessary obstacles. He instructed police officials to interact with citizens and traders respectfully and responsibly, ensuring that complaints against police are addressed in accordance with the law.
He emphasized the business community’s role as the nation’s economic backbone, reiterating that providing a secure environment for business and investment is a top police priority.
"Police, administration, business community, and citizens must collaborate to ensure a safe and peaceful Multan, as law and order are a fundamental prerequisite for economic activity and business growth," he concluded.
Earlier, MCCI President Mian Bakhtawar Tanveer Sheikh expressed gratitude for the police’s commitment to maintaining peace in Multan, commending the establishment of state-of-the-art police stations, Safe City initiatives, and improved policing services. He highlighted security and traffic concerns in the Industrial Estate, advocating for enhanced police patrols, security at commercial centers and banks, and an efficient mechanism to facilitate foreign business visitors.
Senior chamber office-bearers and members attended the event, raising various security, traffic, and policing issues with the RPO. The MCCI subsequently presented its crest to RPO Usman Akram Gondal.
