RTO Multan Seizes Dry Milk Consignment Worth Rs370m
MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 10, 2026) The Regional Tax Office (RTO) Multan team seized a container carrying 1,502 bags of dry milk worth about 370 million rupees after the people transporting the consignment failed to produce valid sales tax invoices, goods declarations, or other legal documents, officials said on Thursday.
According to a spokesperson, the operation was conducted on Bahawalpur Road by the Inland Revenue Enforcement Network (IREN) squad on the directions of Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue RTO Multan, Dr. Muhammad Sarmad Qureshi, and under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue (Headquarters), Umair Shafqat.
Those involved could not provide valid documents relating to the purchase, import, and transportation of the consignment. During preliminary investigations, the buyer named in the available documents was also found to be apparently fictitious, the spokesperson said.
The RTO Multan stated that the seized consignment had been taken into custody while an investigation was underway to trace the actual buyer and determine the complete supply chain.
