SALU Organizes Workshop on Outcome Based Education

The Institute of Computer Science (ICS), Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur, hosted a one-day workshop on "Effective Implementation of Outcome Based Education" for faculty members at FYP-Lab on Wednesday.
Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, served as the chief guest during the event. He emphasized that:
- The workshop aimed to enhance faculty capacity in aligning teaching with measurable learning outcomes.
- Key competencies include formulating and mapping Competency-Based Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), their assessment, and ensuring lecture delivery is linked to defined outcomes.
- Ultimately, Outcome Based Education (OBE) seeks to produce graduates who create a positive impact on society, with assessment rubrics and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) mechanisms playing a crucial role in bridging degrees and societal impact.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Wazir Ali Jamro, Assistant Professor at QUEST Nawabshah. It was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Samina Rajper, Director ICS, and Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences.
Dean Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh highlighted that OBE is increasingly implemented across institutions, with a focus on evaluating student quality.
Dr. Samina Rajper, ICS Director, expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, trainer, and faculty in her vote of thanks. Dr. Ali Raza Lashari conducted the proceedings. Shields were presented to guests, and certificates distributed to faculty members including Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, Prof. Dr. Javed Ahmed Mahar, Dr. Rafaqat Arain, and others.
