SAU Independence Day Program Highlights Students’ Literary & Artistic Skills

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Aug, 2026) Calling upon young people to play a leading role in building a stronger, prosperous and progressive Pakistan, students of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam showcased their literary, artistic and creative talents at an educational and cultural program organized as part of the university’s 79th Independence Anniversary celebrations.
The program, titled “Towards a Better Pakistan than Yesterday,” was jointly organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Youth Development Centre at the university.
Activities and Highlights:
The event opened with a tree planting drive led by Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Aijaz Ali Khooharo, who planted a sapling. Faculty members and students also participated in this campaign, emphasizing environmental responsibility alongside national development.
Subsequently, a program was held at the faculty hall where:
- Students delivered speeches on the theme of a better Pakistan.
- They enthusiastically participated in competitions featuring national and patriotic songs, poetry, and speeches.
- Activities provided students with a platform to express their ideas about Pakistan’s future while showcasing their creative and communication skills.
Speeches and Messages:
Prof. Dr. Aijaz Ali Khooharo said the future of Pakistan was intricately tied to its young generation. He urged students to make education, research, positive thinking, and moral values integral parts of their lives.
Youth Development Centre Coordinator, Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Khushik, emphasized that students were the country’s valuable assets and should actively engage in academic activities as well as literature, culture, public speaking, and community-oriented initiatives.
Dr Ghulam Hussain Wagan, Director University Advancement and Financial Assistance, stressed the importance of modern education, technical skills, and research for national development. He encouraged young people to develop a strong sense of national responsibility and utilize their knowledge and abilities positively and constructively.
