SBA Range Police Arrest 3,897 Suspects In Three-month Crackdown

Hyderabad, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Sep, 2026) Under the supervision of Faisal Bashir Memon, the SBA Range Police have demonstrated notable performance in maintaining law and order and taking action against criminal elements during the three-month period from June to August 2026.
According to an official report issued by DIGP SBA Range Office:
- A total of 2,949 cases were registered across the range, with 7,794 individuals nominated and 3,897 suspects arrested during various operations.
- Month-wise statistics:
- June: 955 cases registered, 2,711 individuals nominated, 1,287 arrests made
- July: 965 cases registered, 2,636 individuals nominated, 1,367 arrests made
- August: 1,029 cases registered, 2,447 individuals nominated, 1,243 suspects arrested.
During this period, police conducted 79 encounters with criminal elements:

Resulting in:
- 2 criminals killed
- 68 suspects arrested
- 54 individuals injured

Encounters included 25 cases in June, 29 in July, and 25 in August.
The police intensified action against proclaimed offenders and absconders, arresting 109 proclaimed offenders and 521 absconders over the three months.
Significant results were achieved in operations against illegal weapons and narcotics:
- Illegal weapons: 254 cases registered, 254 individuals arrested. Recovered weapons included Kalashnikovs, shotguns, rifles, pistols, revolvers, and ammunition.
- Narcotics: 428 cases registered, 565 suspects arrested. Recovered narcotics included opium, hashish, ice, cannabis, and local wine, along with various quantities of cartridges.
Action against gutka, mainpuri, mawa, and other hazardous substances: 499 cases, 632 arrests, and 4,564.858 kilograms of such items recovered.
DIGP Faisal Bashir Memon directed strict and indiscriminate action against criminals, drug dealers, illegal arms holders, proclaimed offenders, and those involved in gutka and mainpuri trade. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring peace and protecting lives and property in the Shaheed Benazirabad Range, stating that operations against criminal elements would be further intensified.
