Secretary For Implementation On Multan’s Master Plan

Secretary Housing Punjab Noor-ul-Amin Mengal directed officials to implement Multan’s master plan at every cost. He issued these directives while chairing a meeting to review progress on development schemes in the city.

Additional Director General MDA Atta-ul-Haq Khokhar briefed the meeting on various development projects being executed by the Multan Development Authority (MDA), while WASA Managing Director Faisal Shaukat gave a briefing on the authority’s operations.

Key Directives:

  • Strict Action Against Illegal Constructions: Mengal directed the MDA Town Planning wing to take strict action against illegal constructions.
  • Focus on Road, Footpath and Green Belt Rehabilitation: He ordered special attention to the rehabilitation and improvement of roads, footpaths, and green belts across the city.
  • Accelerated Development Scheme Pace: Mengal emphasized that the pace of work on ongoing development schemes be further accelerated and directed to complete the ongoing uplift projects within the stipulated timeline.
  • Monsoon Season Precautions for WASA: Regarding WASA operations, he directed MD WASA to take effective precautionary measures in view of the monsoon season. He ordered regular desilting of drains, drainage channels, and manholes to ensure smooth drainage and prevent urban flooding.

Emphasis on Monitoring and Quality:

The secretary stressed the need for regular monitoring of development schemes and effective field supervision. He directed officers to remain present in the field and continuously monitor both the quality and pace of work.

"Providing better basic facilities to citizens was top priority," Mengal said, adding that no compromise would be tolerated on the quality of development projects. He further directed officials to ensure both quality and speed in development schemes in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
