Secretary Social Welfare & Baitul Maal Punjab Visits Sargodha
SARGODHA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th Aug, 2026) Secretary Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Punjab Saira Umar visited here on Tuesday and reviewed various sub-institutions of the Social Welfare Department and under-construction development projects on the spot.
Visit Highlights:
- Divisional Social Welfare Complex: She began her visit by inspecting the new building of the complex. She reviewed various departments and branches, taking a detailed briefing from officers and employees about their roles and ongoing activities.
- Industrial Estate: The Secretary visited the Women’s Handicraft and Training Center, observing training activities and meeting girls under training. She emphasized improving the institution’s display and marketing products made by students online.
- Skills Training: She met girls learning makeup, sewing, embroidery, and other skills, reviewing their products. Saira Umar directed the creation of e-commerce accounts for trained girls to better connect them with online platforms.
- Shelter and Accommodation: She visited a shelter, reviewing accommodation, food, cleanliness, and other facilities. The Secretary stressed maintaining high standards of care for deserving residents.
- Women Crisis Center: She inspected the Women Crisis Center, focusing on enhanced security and welfare measures for women in residence.
- Children’s Homes: Saira Umar visited Modern Children’s Home, meeting girls and distributing gifts. She also attended a birthday party at Boys’ Children’s Home.
- Protection Center and Old Age Home: She toured Protection Center and Old Age Home, inspecting ongoing construction projects.
