SEWA Invests Over AED7.10 Million To Expand Sharjah Gas Network

SHARJAH (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 27th Aug, 2026) – The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) is implementing a package of projects valued at over AED7.1 million to expand and upgrade the natural gas network across various areas of Sharjah City.

These projects aim to develop infrastructure, meet growing demand, and provide customers with high-quality services adhering to international safety standards.

Ibrahim Al Balghouni, Director of the Natural Gas Department at SEWA, revealed that ongoing projects in Sharjah City include:

  • Al Hamah Gas Transmission Line Project: AED3.3 million, extending 9,343 meters, with a completion target of September 2026 (90% complete).
  • Natural Gas Network Development in Al Muwardah 6: AED843,244 for a 10-kilometer network, scheduled for completion by March 2027 (20% complete).
  • Al Badea District Gas Network Project: AED1.16 million for an 8.9-kilometer network, set to finish by March 2027 (25% complete).
  • Al Qutaina 3 Gas Network Development Project: AED1.80 million over 18.4 kilometers, with completion expected by July 2027 (coordination for NOCs underway).

Al Balghouni emphasized that SEWA employs advanced technologies and best practices in network installation and maintenance, upholding the highest health and safety standards while ensuring timely project delivery.

These projects support SEWA’s vision to achieve sustainability and provide innovative services enhancing Sharjah residents’ quality of life.
