Shaikh Tajammul Remembered For Lifelong Services to Journalism and the Kashmir Cause
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 7, 2026) Speakers at a reference held here on Monday, marking the fifth death anniversary of renowned journalist and Mohsin-i-Kashmir Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam, praised his lifelong dedication to journalism and his contributions to the Kashmir cause.
Organized by the United Kashmir Journalists Association (UKJA), the event was attended by senior Hurriyat leaders, journalists, and activists.
Tributes Paid
- Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, a senior Hurriyat leader, described Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam as a person of exceptional devotion who chose to dedicate his life to the Kashmir cause despite having successful careers in both law and journalism in Kashmir.
- Dr Muhammad Inayatullah Andrabi, Convenor of Mahaz-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir, highlighted Shaikh Tajammul’s valuable contributions throughout his life and emphasized the need for continued intellectual and political engagement on the Kashmir issue.
- Shaikh Mateen, another senior Hurriyat leader, recalled Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam’s journalistic efforts and his commitment to the Kashmir cause.
- Other speakers included Hurriyat activists M. Zia-ul-Haq Andrabi and Muhammad Ashraf, as well as senior journalists Habibullah Sheikh and M. Ashraf Wani, all of whom praised Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam’s legacy.
A special Dua (prayer) was offered for Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam’s soul, with attendees seeking forgiveness, eternal peace, and elevation in the afterlife.
