Addressing the Seminar in Karachi
Bengali argued that calls for breaking up Sindh are not new and that figures from Sindh itself have been involved in attacks on the province. He mentioned that all political parties contributed to the imposition of the petroleum levy, ignoring the provinces’ constitutional right to GST (General Sales Tax). The economist noted that GST was initially transferred to the federal government with party support and later returned to the provinces.

Bengali reminded the audience that Sindh was separated from the Bombay Presidency after a significant struggle, and the Sindh Assembly subsequently voted in favor of One Unit.
