Sindh Governor, CM Pay Tribute to Quaid-e-Azam, Murad Rules Out Division of Sindh
KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Sep, 2026) Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah paid tributes to father of the nation Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his 78th death anniversary.
Talking to media persons during their visit to Quaid’s mausoleum on Friday, they emphasized the importance of adhering to Quaid’s principles.
The Chief Minister, reiterating his government’s commitment to national unity and constitutional supremacy, firmly stated that the division of Sindh cannot be forced upon without the consent of the province’s people. He assured that justice would be served in the Mir Raza murder case through an impartial judicial process.
Murad explained that the Constitution provides a clear mechanism for provincial boundary changes, requiring approval from the concerned provincial assembly by a two-thirds majority. He referenced the resolutions against division passed by the Sindh Assembly, highlighting the province’s stance.
Regarding the Mir Raza murder case, Murad rejected any claims of government interference and affirmed his dedication to ensuring justice for the victim’s family. He announced that a judicial commission had been established to independently investigate the matter.
Accompanied by cabinet members and officials, the Chief Minister visited Mazar-e-Quaid to honor the nation’s founder on his anniversary. He expressed gratitude for Quaid’s relentless efforts, despite his illness, in achieving Pakistan’s independence on August 14, 1947.
"We pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whose vision and principles remain a guiding light," said Murad. He urged the nation to embrace Quaid’s message of Unity, Faith, and Discipline, especially in the face of divisive narratives.
The Chief Minister also recognized the contributions of national leaders like Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who established Pakistan’s nuclear program, and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who enhanced the country’s defense capabilities through missile technology.
