Lando Norris Signs New McLaren Contract Until 2030
BBC Sport reports that Lando Norris, a world champion and Formula 1 driver since 2019, has signed a new contract with McLaren until the end of 2030.
Norris expressed his commitment to the team, stating: "There was some interest from elsewhere, but I don’t want to go anywhere. I don’t want to be with another team." He described his decision as "quite an easy yes" despite having over a year left on his existing contract.
The Briton attributes his loyalty to McLaren’s relationships and shared history, specifically highlighting the success they achieved after his promotion of team principal Andrea Stella in late 2022, culminating in back-to-back constructors’ championships in 2024 and 2025 and Norris’s drivers’ title in 2023.
Addressing McLaren’s slow start to the current season, Norris emphasized: "I still have had a lot of fun… I don’t want to fight through moments with anyone else."
