Smog Awareness Drive in Gujrat

The agriculture department has continued awareness activities across Gujrat district under the Chief Minister Punjab Smog Control Programme. These activities aim to educate farmers and citizens about the harmful effects of smog and measures to control air pollution.
According to an official source, a smog awareness rally was organised at village Sandhar, Gujrat Markaz, with the participation of Agriculture Department officers, field staff, farmers, and local residents. The participants highlighted the negative impacts of smog and called on citizens to refrain from burning crop residues, contributing to reduced environmental pollution.
Meanwhile, following directives from Deputy Director Agriculture Muhammad Athar Attari, awareness pamphlets were distributed in various villages throughout the district. Agriculture Department field staff provided information to farmers and citizens about the dangers of burning crop residues and preventative actions to help mitigate air pollution and smog.
