Son charged with murdering parents in their Blackburn home

A man has been charged with murdering his parents in their own home.
Ismail Ahmed Yeli, 80, and Fatma Leli, 78, were found stabbed to death in a house on Hardman Street in Blackburn, Lancashire Police said.
Their family described them as "inseparable" and expressed their heartbreak at losing "the oldest and most cherished members of our family".
Yasin Leli, also of Hardman Street, has been charged with two counts of murder. He is due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court later.
Police were called to the house just after 08:20 BST on Monday and discovered the couple had died from multiple stab wounds. Lancashire Police said they remain "with their loved ones at this distressing time".
The family thanked police for their "professionalism and compassion", as well as local councillors, the wider community, and Masjid-e-Quwwatul mosque for their support.
