Space Being Created for Alternative Arrangement by Discrediting Government Figures, Khawaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that all cards are being played for a post-period to bring in a fresh team, pointing to those working behind the scenes.
ISLAMABAD, ( UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Nov, 2026 ) Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said space was being created for an alternative arrangement by discrediting members of the current government so that a fresh team could be brought in. He said he was referring to those working behind the move.
During an ARY News programme, anchor Muhammad Malik asked Defence Minister Khawaja Asif about a tweet in which he had said that if Salik Hussain's statement was part of a future political agenda to target Maryam's government, create space first in Punjab and then at the federal level, and secure his political future, then it would make sense.
The defence minister replied that he would share the details outside the off-the-record programme but could not disclose everything there, adding that all cards were being played for a post-period.
He added:
- Some capitalists were also highly active these days, as were the “carpetbaggers” who, over the past six to 10 months, had believed that a political crisis could occur or was about to occur.
