Speedboat killer Jack Shepherd has been jailed for 20 months with a further four years on extended licence for violently assaulting his girlfriend, including hitting her chest with a set of hot barbecue tongs.
The 38-year-old had previously been jailed for six years in 2018 for manslaughter over the death of Charlotte Brown, who died when his speedboat crashed during a first date.
In 2024, Shepherd started dating his former partner, but towards the end of that year she accused him of abuse and threats. In February 2025, he admitted pinning her down and punching her multiple times causing bruising.
In June 2025, an argument over a burned pizza led to him hitting her with barbecue tongs on her breast, leaving a permanent scar.
As he was already serving time for manslaughter, Judge Martin Edmunds told the court he could not add more time to Shepherd’s sentence. He is due for release in January 2029.
Shepherd had been released on licence in 2024 but was recalled to prison last year over allegations of further violence against his partner.
