SUKKUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Sep, 2026) – Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) under its Enterprise Development Fund (EDF) district Ghotki inaugurated a Scrap Pressing Business enterprise on G.T. Road, Ghotki.
The inauguration ceremony took place at Muhammad Shareef Scrap Pressing on Friday and was attended by SRSO’s Regional General Manager, Khairpur, Aumir Abbas Mangi, along with Senior District Manager Ashiq Ali Kalwar, Kanwal Hussain, Parveen Mahar, Zahid Ali, and the SRSO district Ghotki team.
Business Details:
- Beneficiary: Muhammad Shareef, an experienced scrap business entrepreneur.
- Loan Amount: PKR 2.5 Million (interest-free) disbursed on August 21, 2026.
- Repayment Plan: PKR 70,000 per month for 36 months.
Business Expansion:
Shareef had been operating a small-scale scrap business supplying 20-30 tons weekly to local vendors in Sadiqabad. With EDF support, he invested in a scrap pressing machine and lift machine, leading to a significant business expansion.
- New Capacity: 150+ tons per week.
- Supply Reach: Extended to Lahore and Sheikhupura.
- Employment Growth: Increased from 8 to 22 workers, creating 14 new jobs.
EDF Financing:
The PKR 2.5 million financing was approved after a thorough business plan assessment and pre-verification process. Muhammad Shareef expressed gratitude for SRSO’s support and the Government of Sindh’s commitment to interest-free financial assistance. He assured repayment within the agreed 36 months.
Official Recognition:
SRSO’s Regional General Manager, Aumir Abbas Mangi, praised Muhammad Shareef’s entrepreneurial spirit, efficient utilization of EDF funds, and contribution to local employment. He encouraged further business growth and sustainability.
The ceremony concluded with a ribbon-cutting, group photos, and an inspection of the pressed scrap bales and machinery.
