SSP Hyderabad Inaugurates Training Program for One-Stop Protection Center

SSP Hyderabad has inaugurated a four-day training program for the One-Stop Protection Center (OSPC) and its referral partners, hosted at the Hyderabad Police Headquarters. This collaboration involves the Hyderabad Police, Legal Aid Society (LAS), and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Key Points:

  • Purpose: To enhance coordination and integrated mechanisms among police, legal institutions, and relevant departments for efficient provision of legal assistance, protection, and services to victims of gender-based and sexual violence.
  • Initiators: SSP Hyderabad Shahzeb Chachar, DSP Paras Bakrani, Danish Ahmed Soomro, and a High Court Advocate.
  • Attendees: SDPO Hali Road Shafaq Anwar, SDPO SITE Sanobar Khoso, SHO Women Inspector Sakina Bhatti, Kanwal Sattar Solangi, Arham Sarwar, staff from the OSPC, and other female police personnel.
  • Training Content:
    • Day 1: Interrelationship between gender, power, and patriarchy; social construction of power; sensitive and effective conversations with trauma survivors.
    • Remaining days: Legal rights of victims, relevant laws and regulations, evidence preparation, legal concept of consent, OSPC procedures, referral mechanisms, data protection for victims, and medico-legal procedures in rape and domestic violence cases.
  • Conclusion: The program will conclude on September 18, 2026.
