SSUET Delegation Visits SSU HQ To Explore Collaboration

SSU (Special Security Unit) Headquarters welcomed a delegation from Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) on September 10, 2026. Led by Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, the delegation included prominent members like Erum Akbar Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Afzal Haq, and other distinguished guests.

Commandant SSU, Captain (r) Aamir Khan Niazi, shared insights about the unit’s performance:

  • Development of a customized ChatBot tailored to their needs.
  • Employment of 20 retired army officers contributing their skills and experience.
  • Active work on artificial intelligence projects resulting in software available in three languages: Urdu, English, and Sindhi.
  • Emphasis on SSU operating more like a military unit than a traditional police force.

Chancellor Akbar Ali Khan praised SSU’s efforts under the vision of Deputy Inspector General of Police (Security and Emergency Services Division), Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, TI.

SSP Training Major Saleem discussed SSU’s effective strategies in safeguarding important personalities, dignitaries, and sensitive installations, highlighting the importance of continuous learning for personal safety: "There is no age limit for learning. We should be aware of how to save ourselves."
