Former federal minister and politician Fawad Chaudhry has expressed grave concerns over Pakistan's political and economic turmoil. He argues that the current negotiations between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are a mere facade, emphasizing that genuine political stability is unattainable without direct dialogues with Imran Khan.
Chaudhry claims that the use of force and coercion only intensifies political animosity, citing the November 2024 long march as an example. Despite its failure to bring stability, it further weakened Pakistan, leading to unrest across various regions, from Kashmir to Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He proposes releasing prominent PTI leaders imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Yasmin Rashid, Ijaz Chaudhary, Mehmoodur Rashid, and Umar Sarfraz Cheema, to foster a conducive environment for meaningful negotiations.
Regarding the Middle East crisis, Chaudhry suggests that Pakistan could capitalize on the region's investment shift by offering favorable conditions. However, he criticizes the country's leadership for raising political tensions, akin to civil war, which hinders foreign investment.
In a scathing critique, Chaudhry asserts that the mindset of resolving issues through gunpoint has bred an atmosphere of insurgency within Pakistan. He urges political stakeholders to return to the negotiating table without further delay, acknowledging that reconciliation is inevitable after destruction. Ultimately, he stresses, political stability can only be achieved through talks with Imran Khan.
