‘Farage Faces Met Inquiry’ and ‘Ready for Departure?’

A criminal investigation into Reform UK over allegations it broke foreign funding laws is making headlines. The Metropolitan Police is conducting the inquiry following a broadcast by Channel 4 News, where an undercover reporter recorded two senior Reform aides appearing to suggest a way around electoral law for securing foreign party donations. A Reform UK spokesperson denies any wrongdoing and states they will fully cooperate with the investigation.
The Guardian highlights the same story, noting that the Electoral Commission is also considering all relevant information and regulatory steps in conjunction with the police inquiry.
According to the i Paper, police are set to interview Reform UK leader Nigel Farage as part of the donations probe, following a number of reports relating to donations and polling involving the political party.

The paper also reports that Farage faces a "police grilling over potential donation offences". The Met had previously investigated whether payments to Reform in the weeks leading up to the last election complied with donation laws, and is now examining payments from a company controlled by Reform’s deputy leader Richard Tice, which received £1m in June 2024.
